Remember Pearl Harbor! December 7th, 1941, a day of infamy. The Japanese attacked without warning causing the start of World War II. Here’s another day to remember. November 3d, 2026. We will all look back and remember this day. Remember this day for what? It’s the midterm election day. It’s also possibly the end of American democracy, if the Democrats don’t take back control of Congress.
Were we smart or stupid? Have we continued to allow sinister people to control our lives; to take away our freedoms such as freedom of speech; freedom to assemble; to protest? It keeps getting worse. Our President does not represent all of America, but only the extreme right-wing Republicans and big business. He has set the tone of our national moral life with a pronouncement that he believes in revenge and retribution.
Now we have a true MAGA leader, Pete Hegseth, a former super conservative television announcer, appointed by our President to lead the Armed Forces, who decided that on December 3, 2026, we will have a public execution of Major Nidal Hasan, a Muslim, a former army officer and convicted mass murderer, to be shown to all of us live on television. Hegseth was initially supported in this decision by Donald Trump as President. This televised firing squad execution could be played in our schools so that our children could watch. If the goal is to teach them that crime doesn’t pay, it’s a false idea. Hegseth knew that it was a false idea. Studies have shown that this type of public execution is repressive, threatening and totally ineffective in lessening crime. So why was he doing it? The real reason is to inflict terror on the public, especially children, forcing them, by fear, into forever conforming. Also, it functions to pressure the public to give up protests and all dissent and to see that the government and Mr. Trump have complete power over their lives. Hey, didn’t our own beloved George Washington order executions at Valley Forge? Yes, indeed he did. But not public executions. They were done only before military troops to discourage desertions. There is absolutely no proof that they were effective. Also, haven’t you heard, “two wrongs don’t make a right.”
In fact, public executions are nothing new. It’s a way for everyone to watch the infliction of horrible suffering on another defenseless human being. Some people enjoy watching the infliction of pain on another, as in cage fighting. Mr. Trump sure does. What is the difference between meeting out justice and the intentional infliction of pain and suffering? One doesn’t execute a criminal as a form of entertainment. That’s sick! Even the convicted mass murderers at Nuremberg after World War II were hung inside the prison, privately.
Maybe Mr. Hegseth can bring us back to the good old days when there were beheadings in the town square. In fact, the Guillotine was invented to enable a beheading to be more humane by making it fast and less painful.
Hello Pete. Here are some great ideas for you. Try a draw and quartering death on the White House lawn. That’s when you tie the victim’s arms to two horses and then have them run in opposite directions, tearing the guilty person in half, right in front of a roaring crowd.
Another popular number used to be disembowelment, but it’s not very popular anymore because it can be uncomfortably smelly. It’s so bad that we won’t even describe it.
One of the best, Pete, is public flaying. The whip tears the skin off right in front of you. The pain and howling are terrific showstoppers. It even beats burning at the stake.
Then there’s death by a thousand cuts. That was very popular because it inflicted the most pain. Just ask anyone who underwent it.
Turn the criminal over. Hang him upside down and then cut him in two with a large saw. There have been complaints that some of the audience had their clothes stained by the spurting blood.
It’s always best to inflict these punishments with the victim totally nude as a symbol, to create an indignity and to express the feeling of vulnerability.
Pete, these spectacles are as effective as discouraging Christianity by setting the tigers loose on the Christians in the Coliseum. They truly encourage conformity and are a wonderful warning to all those who question the legality of an order or plot a disloyal act.
Pete, remember that each cut, every torment, the more brutal the punishment, the greater will be your religious faith and the more it symbolizes the power of the ruling class over the ordinary people.
Our leader, President Trump has shown us that his rage as a ruler is to be a warning carved into our brain as a political message to obey and conform. He alone has the means of reprisal. He alone has the instruments and tools of control. He has the means to compel your compliance. He has been made immune by ruling of the Supreme Court. He is above the law.
Pete, your boss, President Trump, has unrelenting authority, ordained by the Supreme Court and supported by spineless Senatorial and Congressional dupes. He has created a rein of fear and a brutal atmosphere of total and unquestioned loyalty. Our Congressmen, Senators and Justices have lost their independence and have become lackies.
HOLD EVERYTHING! President Trump has changed his mind. The televised firing squad execution is not going to be televised after all. His advisors have told him that killing someone by a firing squad on television, who is defenseless and in a wheelchair is not going to be too popular. However, be assured that Trump’s decision to relent had nothing to do with humanitarian reasons. Mr. Trump was unmoved by the protests of the Catholic Bishops that such a punishment would be a barbaric promotion of the “culture of death.” Actually, the MAGA crowd enjoys watching the intentional infliction of pain on others as shown in cage fighting, professional wrestling, and boxing. However, there’s a distinction between watching two equally matched voluntary contestants beat each other up and televising the live cold-blooded killing of another defenseless human being as entertainment.
The real reason for Mr. Trump relenting about having the execution on television is that it would tend to make Nidal Hasan a martyr and terrorist organizations would use the film footage as a recruitment tool.
Mr. Hegseth and Mr. Trump come from a group of people who believe in public executions including stoning unfaithful women, but not men, to death in the public square. Despite their personal faults, they would have no trouble throwing the first stone.
Hegseth ordered the killing of defenseless seamen in international waters, without a trial and Mr. Trump endorsed it heartily.
What about the law? The Eight Amendment to the Constitution prohibits cruel and unusual punishment. Our political Supreme Court, with no enforceable code of ethics to inhibit it, would probably find that there is a “long historical justification and tradition of capital punishment as a deterrent to crime, including death by drowning, (dunking), death by burning at the stake and hanging. This was all part of an honest, sacred, good American tradition designed to restore discipline and therefore is not unusual and in our opinion is not cruel.” The guilty person might, as a kindness, be given the chance to choose what type of death he or she prefers. That certainly would not be cruel. If others watch the execution on television, the criminal, being dead, has no standing to complain. That’s what you can expect from our “enlightened” Supreme Court.
We should be concerned about the mentality of Mr. Hegseth and President Trump who have no hesitation to entertain their followers with a televised execution of a defenseless person in an effort to inhibit dissent and to help the powerful retain power. This is satanic behavior. Let’s keep all of this in mind when we vote on November 3rd, 2026 – A DAY TO REMEMBER
