Questions We Need to Ask Ourselves

Have you ever served in the United States military, or anyone in your family or any friend or acquaintance? The answer is probably “yes.”

Do you believe that those who serve or served are “fools and suckers”?

Do you believe that the war wounded, and dead were “fools and suckers”?

Donald Trump believes these lies. Check out his statements when he was supposed to visit our military cemetery in France. He refused to go.

Donald Trump said that he didn’t want disabled war veterans to participate in ceremonies or march in parades because it upset people to see them.

Donald Trump called senator John McCain of Arizona a “loser” because he was shot down over Vietnam and was imprisoned by the Vietcong for five years. John McCain was an American hero who refused to be released from prison until all the other servicemen in that terrible jail were released!

Why are patriotic Americans allowing this guy to get away with this stuff?

Trump called four-star general Mark Milley a traitor and suggested that he be shot. General Milley, who was the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the highest-ranking member of the military resigned shortly thereafter calling then President Trump a “wannabe dictator.”

Donald Trump has petitioned the United States Supreme Court to determine that Trump, as president, was and if elected again, will be immune and not held responsible for ANY crimes that he commits. This includes murdering his political enemies. This sounds like Russia and Putin and their secret police and political assassinations all over again! The military has just recently filed a document opposing this. The document was signed by more than a dozen four-star generals, the former CIA Director, and the former Secretary of Defense. What will they do if Trump orders them to do something illegal, like arrest his enemies or stop a political rally or raid the opposition party’s office?  This immunity decision is going to be made by a politically oriented court to which Trump has made three appointments.

Who is Donald Trump to attack and abuse the military service so viciously…and get away with it? Is General Milley right? Are we flirting with the danger of giving up democracy and creating an autocratic dictatorship?

Who would be the dictator? Donald Trump of course.

Let’s look at his qualifications just from a military point of view. His business and social life will come later. Before he became President Donald Trump, to the best of my knowledge, never served a day in the military and for that matter never served his country or his community in any elected capacity.

Trump skipped out of the draft because Dr. Braunstein (Trump’s New York city doctor), who was a tenant of Trump’s father and who it is stated never even examined or treated Mr. Trump, certified that Trump had heel spurs and was unable to serve. His family says that after this favor Dr. Braunstein’s rent was never increased.

Have you ever seen any medical records or x-rays of Mr. Trump’s heel spurs? I couldn’t find any. Heel spurs can be treated with sponge pads in the shoe. My heel spurs did not keep me from exercising or serving on active duty for two years and the reserves for seven more years and four years of ROTC. They are uncomfortable at times, but not disabling. It’s amazing that wounded heroes who have legs and arms amputated can go back on active duty, even parachute.

As a matter of interest, I learned that Donald Trump went to high school at the New York Military Academy which has an athletic program including physically demanding sports such as football, basketball, rugby, wrestling, track and field, cross country, and tennis. The school says that “Every cadet is generally required to compete year-round.” There is no evidence that Mr. Trump was excused from any activity. There is no evidence that he was treated for any physical problem, particularly heel spurs. In fact, he was made a student captain and was well known for being a bully. There are no records of his having heel spurs.

Mr. Trump then went on to Fordham University in New York. There is evidence that he played both tennis and squash which is a physically demanding four wall, hard black ball and small racquet game involving short stops and turns and is “a high-intensity, high impact sport …which puts a lot of stress on joints and muscles.” Yet there is no evidence that Mr. Trump had any trouble playing squash and there is no evidence of any medical record showing that Mr. Trump ever complained of heel spurs while at Fordham.

Throughout his high school and college days and right up to the present the is no evidence of Donald Trump ever having heel spurs, WHERE ARE THE X-RAYS? The diagnosis of heel spurs which are bony attachments in the heel is made by the objective test of x-rays. Dr. Blaustein never showed us any x-rays. Heel spurs are permanent. Donald Trump never had any heel spurs removed that I know of. Surely his campaign headquarters would have produced such surgical records. Let’s have an x-ray right now showing disabling heel spurs. I’ll bet you dollars to doughnuts that he will refuse a simple x-ray because in all probability he doesn’t now and he never in the past had heel spurs.

Did you ever see a picture of Mr. Trump using a brace, supportive shoe, crutch, strap, or device on his feet? Every time I see Donald Trump marching around the golf course, hopping out of a golf cart and taking a healthy swing at the golf ball I look for a brace or a strap on his feet. Where is the limp caused by those painful spurs which do not go away by themselves and are permanent?

Frankly I think that WE are fools and suckers!

Let’s think – Do we want to be duped by a disrespectful draft dodger?

GOD BLESS OUR WAR HEROES AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!
